Jesus Yanes III, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Yanes was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and earned his Medical Doctor diploma in 2009. He successfully completed all the requirements for resident training at the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency here in San Antonio.

Dr. Yanes has been very active in volunteer mission work and is part of the CMDA organization which provides both medical and dental aid to border towns in Texas. His passion is to serve his community for those that are in need. Dr. Yanes also believes in speaking to local high schools around San Antonio by providing information on scholarships to universities and preparing those students for their future careers.

Horacio R. Ramirez, MD, FAAFP

Family Medicine

Dr. Ramirez was born in San Antonio and raised in Hebbronville, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated Cum Laude in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He then enrolled at the University of California San Diego, School of Medicine where he graduated in 1976. He completed a Rotating Internship at UCLA-Harbor General Hospital and returned to San Antonio in 1977 where he formalized a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1979.

Dr. Ramirez has been continuously board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 1979 and has been in practice for 29 years. He has had a number of professional appointments and accolades including Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, Best Doctor in America Awards, Texas Monthly and San Antonio “Top Doctor” Awards. Dr. Ramirez enjoys photography, gardening and hunting and is rumored to still swing a tennis racquet.

Jesus A. Rodriguez, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Rodriguez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He attended the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas where he graduated Cum Laude in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. His studies then brought him to San Antonio where he conducted Breast and Prostate Cancer research at the University of Texas Health Science Center and co-authored two articles in the medical literature. He, subsequently, attended medical school at the health science center and received his Medical Doctor diploma in 2005. He then enrolled in and successfully completed all requirements for resident training at the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency here in San Antonio.

Dr. Rodriguez has been very active in the San Antonio community having participated in wellness and exercise programs for the elderly as well as health camps for teens. He is a member in good standing with the Bexar County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. He recently received his Diplomate status and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Rodriguez enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and being with family and friends.

Marcy Youngdahl, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Youngdahl grew up in Austin, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Subsequently, she attended medical school at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received her Medical Doctor diploma in 2009. She then completed all requiremets for resident training at the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency here in San Antonio where she served as Co-Chief Resident in her final year of training. She graduated and was Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in 2012. Dr. Youngdahl loves to teach her patients about ways to improve health and understanding disease processes. Additionally, she has served as a clinical instructor for Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students. Dr. Youngdahl enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with her family, attending sporting events and traveling. 

Alessandro Valverde, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Valverde was born in Weslaco and raised in Edinburg, Texas. He attended The University of Texas-Pan American where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010 with a Double Major Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. He then attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He graduated and received his medical doctor diploma in 2014. Dr. Valverde subsequently matched into the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program in San Antonio, Texas. He successfully completed all the training requirements and finished residency in 2017. Dr. Valverde plans to remain an active TAFP member and continue to serve the local community here in San Antonio. Dr. Valverde enjoys going to the gym, watching movies, playing basketball, board games and guitar. 

Sheila Pinkston, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Pinkston was raised in Cibolo, Texas. She is a first generation college graduate and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where she graduated in December 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Spanish. Her studies then brought her to San Antonio where she conducted research with the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She subsequently attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and received her medical doctor diploma in 2014. She then enrolled in and successfully completed all requirements for resident training at the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency here in San Antonio. Dr. Pinkston is a two time recipient of the annual William Osler Award presented by her residency training program - an award that honors excellence in bedside manner and promotion of a strong physician-patient relationship. She recently received her Diplomate status and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Pinkston enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, painting/crafting and reading.
